Hire Conditions

Hiring of Studio 657 is very simple and straight forward. In the first instance applicants work is reviewed by the gallery owner to ensure that the work meets gallery expectations. Dates and timing are then agreed and the space and any additional aspects such as web presence are agreed and paid for. The following conditions apply:

  • Studio 657 is available to hire on a weekly basis from Monday at 12 noon to Sunday at 8pm.
  • The weekly cost of hiring is £1000. Discounts are available for longer hire and for some dates. Please view availability for different rates.
  • 50% payment is required to secure your booking and the other 50% is required 4 weeks before the starting date. These payments are non – refundable so please insure against cancellation due to illness or any other factor, should you feel this to be necessary.
  • A further cheque of £400 is required with your final payment. This will be held against damages or breakages howsoever caused and returned to you after the letting period, unless deductions are to be made.
  • You may only hang your work with the type of hooks recommended by the gallery.
  • To keep the costs of the gallery as economical as possible please leave the gallery clean and tidy. All nail holes must be filled and painted. Paint will be provided by the gallery. You must remove all rubbish, bottles and packaging.
  • As we are near to Chelsea Football Ground at Stamford Bridge, please check that the dates of matches don’t coincide with your opening party. The gallery will not be held responsible for any inconvenience caused by football events.
  • No red wine may be served as spillages will cause permanent damage to the oak floor.
  • Opening times are from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm with one late evening up until 9.30pm. Additional
    late evenings may be agreed but may incur an extra cost.
  • There is a burglar alarm but you are responsible for insuring all your own works of art and personal possessions brought into the gallery against all risks, including damage, howsoever caused and theft. There is an excess charge of £300 for damage to the premises, should we have to claim on our own insurance.
  • Studio 657 accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for works shown or exhibited on its premises. This includes but is not limited to any warranties as to the authenticity of any works shown or exhibited. The person, business or company responsible for taking the letting will indemnify Studio 657 in full for any claims or costs, however arising, made against it by a third party in respect of any matters arising out of the letting.
